Use for a Mooooseeeee

Picture one.

And two.
And may I say making a moose was freaking insane. And no I couldn't do the completely naked thing, but he is naked under that towel!

booklets

I redid the design a tad. I'm pretty happy with it, but I think if I end up using them as promotional whatevers, I'll make it into a book instead of individual pamphlets.

Finally!!! ITs DONE...! : )

I am so glad it's over. I have all the illustrations painted, scanned, and made a nice color mock up. I made one for my mom for christmas. I did a very different cover, but I think it works so much better. !! I told Sarah my idea for next semester which is a few smaller projects, one being some vintage postcards as mailers. (prob 4) Im still thinking.... NO BOOKS, cuz I have the Illustrated Book next semester lol.

What are every one's schedule for the Spring? Cept for Ash cuz she' OUTTA HERE.

Here is the cover:

Weakness

Hey guys! I just finished printing my diagram illustration, so here's how it turned out...

I printed it on a ton of different kinds of paper, different colors, etc.. even on matte duralar which looks pretty awesome in person but isn't too special when scanned. Anyway, I'm really happy with how it came out and and going to miss letterpressing a lot :(

As a related post to Sarah's, which was hilariously disturbing... =)

This is an animation I did way back at good old DCAD. Took me four hours haha.

URRRRGH......

I don't know why this took so freaking long...but because it did, I'm not going to morning class tomorrow. I'm still also struggling with a 4th idea for space. I had "coming out of warp in front of the sun" but that's kinda complicated and doesn't make for a good image. I would VERY VERY much like your ideas cuz my brain can't come up with anything cool.

Also the line work for these is colored partially and only on the space sharks, so imagine the rest with that.

Messy Room Take 2

Suggestions?

Another shot

With some blur....

Still trying.....I like this angle a little better. I like the blur Sarah, thank you for demoing that for me.

re-vamped old stuff

So I'm going back and some of my old art for my new website I'm planning on launching very soon. The new ones are the ones with more colored line work and texture. What are your thoughts on this?

Also, I've recently been considering changing my "name" back to sarah sorden, instead of sarahsloth. because it's more professional. But the sloth is more memorable. But it also has negative connotations (laziness, slowness etc).

What do you think? Should I?

Falling Up

First ok picture after 100000000000000000 pictures.
I made everything a little darker I thought it looked nicer that way.

What I'm workin with.......using a damn hanger to hold them up. This was much harder than anticipated.

2 sketches

For messy room, decided to push the jungle thing. Sorry if it's a little hard to read.

For falling up, haven't finished the b/g or anything but let me know if you guys like the positions of them or have any suggestions, especially about the girl/her stylization because I was struggling with it....always struggling with people.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Movie Trailer | /Film

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Movie Trailer | /Film

Posted using ShareThis

Hey ladies....I ran across this trailer...apparently this movie already came out...I'm always way behind with all moves...but actually browsing lends me to discover things. But because its 3d/animated it reminded me of Aehee and Ashley's projects they're currently working on. Just wanted to throw the trailer in here. Inspiration and what not :]

Thought this was cool

Photoshop Tutorial

TO CHANGE COLORS OF GRAYSCALE THINGS AND LINEWORK:

1. In photoshop take your black and white image (can have grays) and click the circle button at the bottom of the "CHANNELS" window (tab next to layers).

This selects all the white.

2. Then INVERT the selection so it selects the black instead. It dosen't always look like the black is selected, but it is.

3. Then take your brush tool and paint on it to change the color.
- the values won't change, but the black will become colorized

LIKE MAGIC!!!!!

Bear lit, hopefully final...

But I feel like its missing something...maybe color. The fridge and bear are really white.

Thursday, October 1, 2009

Lite Bear still in progress

Trying to light him and figure out perspective and being able to actually see the stuff in the fridge. Any suggestions? I'm using a yellow Christmas light.

Unrelated...

I did this owl drawing a long time ago (Sarah you may remember it) and I finally got some white gouache today so I painted it.....and I am looking for some constructive criticism.

Sketches

I won't be in to class tomorrow cuz I have a doctor's apt I have to get to in DC. But here are my sketches.

HERE'S THE TEXT

Getting tangled in seaweed
This can be very inconvenient, especially when you have somewhere to be. A good tool for dealing with this pesky aquatic plant is a good old fashioned knife. If you forgot yours, try to grab a sawfish.

Clawed Crustations

The sound of the ocean can sometimes be heard from putting your ear to a conch shell. However, a danger lies in this activity. Sometimes there is still a creature living in the shell and it will come out and pinch you! Also beware of other forms of attack by clawed crustations - kid being pinched on noses and butts.

Sea Zombies (only has one sketch)
Sunken ships provide a wonderful ecosystem for aquatic life to flourish. Unfortunately, they also come with zombie crews. These crews can range in numbers, depending on who was on deck when the ship sunk. Unlike land zombies, the sea zombies do not seek brains. They only hunger for bellybutton lint. Empty it out before you enter the water.

Nessy
The elusive sea queen hides from the public, but for those who frequent Lock Ness for it's wonderful diving, Nessy can be quite dangerous if not handled properly. Being the only lock ness monster in the lake, she has grown lonely, and situations have been known to turn very ugly when you deny her invitations for tea.
